BY AZIMIO MEDIA TEAM,NAROK,11TH JULY,2022-Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party flag-bearer Raila Odinga on Monday returned to Narok county in scaled up efforts to consolidate the Maasai votes.
Campaigning in Narok, Raila said his government will promote livestock farming noting that the region is yet to fully capitalise on the activity despite it being one of the main economic activities.
“My government is going to set up a processing plant for livestock products in Narok to create employment for the youth. Farmers from this region will no longer travel to Nairobi or Athi River for the processing of livestock products,” he said
The former premier also spoke about the Mau Forest restoration journey promising to build on the efforts by the current government to fence the entire forest if elected.
“The fight to protect Mau almost ended my political career. I told those who opposed the restoration of Mau that I was ready to sell Mandazi in Kibera if protecting Mau meant losing votes,” he explained
Raila said the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party is committed to ending the four main challenges Kenyans have faced despite having attained independence which include; ignorance, healthcare, poverty and corruption.
“My government will ensure affordable and quality health care for all through the ‘Babacare’ program. We will also form a social protection program that will seek to give vulnerable Kenyans a stipend of Ksh 6,000 every month,” he stated
Raila was accompanied by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina, Junet Mohamed and Narok County Gubernatorial aspirant Moitalel Ole Kenta among others.
