BY DPPS,MOMBASA,25TH JUNE,2022-United Democratic Alliance Presidential candidate William Ruto returned to the Coast region to drum up support for his bid promising to deal with historical land issues should he succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta this year.
According to Ruto who held rallies in Mombasa, Taita Taveta, and Kwale counties, the question of land ownership will be vital in the implementation of his Bottom-Up Economic Plan.
“Counties such as Lamu that have been by unresolved land ownership issues will be our priority as we seek to drive investments and enhance agricultural productivity.” He said
The Deputy President told area residents they can trust him to handle the matter even as he defended his development track record in government. He cited achievements in infrastructure, health, and education in the region under the Jubilee administration, claiming that all development took place while he was actively involved in day to day running of government.
He asked the locals to embrace his leadership arguing that the region’s support for Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Presidential candidate Raila Odinga over the years has not yielded much.
Ruto and leaders accompanying him rallied the electorate to vote for Kenya Kwanza-affiliated candidates saying the high cost of living and fight against corruption will be prioritized if they are elected to office.
