BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,25TH MAY 2022-A total of 18,133,142 vaccines have been administered across the country as of 24th May 2022, The Ministry of Health has said.
Of these, 16,419,411 are doses administered to the adult population of 18 years and above while another 1,352,862 are doses administered to those between 15 to 17 years.
The total number of vaccines administered in the last 24 hours is 15,486 while the total number of people fully vaccinated in the last 24 hours is 7,202.
The Proportion of adults fully vaccinated stands at 30.8pc with the Government working towards vaccinating a targeted population of 27,246,033.
In the last 24 hrs 57 people tested positive for COVID-19, from a sample size of 2,954 bringing the positivity rate to 1.9%.
From the cases 45 are Kenyans while 12 are foreigners. 35 are males, 22 females while the youngest is a 5-yearold and the oldest is 80 years old.
In terms of County distribution, Nairobi reported 37 cases, Siaya 6, Kilifi 5, Kiambu and Murang’a 2 each while Kisumu, Kwale, Turkana Mombasa, and Bomet had 1 case each.
According to the Ministry, 15 patients have recovered from the disease during the same period, all of them from the Home Based and Isolation Care Program.
This pushes the total recoveries to 318,375 of whom 265,344 are from the Home-Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,031 are from various health facilities countrywide.
There are 4 patients currently admitted in our health facilities, while 376 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
