BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,28TH MARCH 2022-The Covid-19 positivity rate now stands at 0.3% after 9 people tested positive on Monday for the disease, from a sample size of 3,255 tested in the last 24 hours.
7 are Kenyans and 2 foreigners. 5 are females while 4 are males. The youngest is a 5-year-old child while the oldest is 62 years.
Total confirmed positive cases are now 323,383 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,502,787.
In terms of County distribution; Nairobi 7, Busia 1, Machakos 1.
Distribution of positive cases by age is as follows; 0-9 years (1), 10-19 years (1), 20-29 years (0), 30-39 (5), 40-49 (0), 50-59 (1), 60 years and above (1).
18 patients have recovered from the disease, all of them from Home-Based Isolation and Care.
This pushes the total recoveries to 317,608 of whom 264,594 are from the Home Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,014 are from various health facilities countrywide.
Today no death has been reported. Therefore, the cumulative fatalities remain at 5,647.
A total of 13 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 115 are under the Home-Based 6 Isolation and Care program.
One patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is also on ventilatory support. 3 patients are on supplemental oxygen and all of them are in the general wards.
No patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
As of March 27th 2022, a total of 17,535,200 vaccines have been administered across the country.
Of these, 16,049,239 are doses administered to the adult population (18 years and above). 2
Another 1,209,464 are doses administered to those between 15 to 17 years while 276,497 are booster doses.
The total number of vaccines administered in the last 24 hours is 12,331 while the total number of people fully vaccinated in the last 24 hours is 8,365.
The Proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 29.6%.
The Government is working towards vaccinating a targeted population of 27,246,033.
