Ruto won’t stop donating “atapeana na atapeana” Mama Rachel Ruto urged Kenyans not to worry about the DP’s generosity.-Mama Rachel

BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,24TH MARCH,2022-Mama Rachel Ruto has defended her husband deputy president William Ruto over attacks directed at him for contributing to churches and harambees.

Speaking at a function in Emali in Makueni County on Thursday, Mama Rachel urged Kenyans not to worry about the DP’s generosity.

She added that Ruto is mindful of Kenyans and his generosity is real.

“Mimi naomba tu watu wasisumbuke kusema anapeana. Atapeana na atapeana mpaka abaki bila…mimi namjua Deputy President ako na roho ya Wakenya kwa roho yake. Na najua wakati mungu atakapomjalia, atafanya mambo mengi sana,” Rachel said.

Loosely translated to: “I urge people not to worry about the DP’s donations. He will keep donating until he is left with nothing… I know the deputy president has Kenyans’ interest at heart. And I am certain when God blesses him he will do great things”.

On Sunday in Murang’a, the DP averred that he will continue supporting the church despite criticisms from various leaders.

Speaking at ACK St. James Cathedral in Murang’a town, Ruto said he will not be dissuaded from supporting the church.

“We will continue to partner with you in the church. Those that have been making noise at us do not understand how donations work,” he said.

He further assured the clergy that the country will continue to be a God-fearing nation.

During the Sagana III meeting, Uhuru indirectly accused Ruto of fraudulently acquiring funds and donating them to church for ‘cleansing’. “

“And the money you are eating was supposed to be taken to the people of Elgeyo Marakwet for dams. Sh3 billion so that God’s children can drink water so that they can farm. But the money was put in someone’s pocket and then he stands in the church that I sent you with Sh2 million, coming here leading in hallelujah songs,” Uhuru said.
