Am ready to respect the outcome of August elections-DP Ruto

BY DPPS,USA,4THMARCH,2022-Deputy President William Ruto has said that he will respect the outcome of the August 9 election.

The DP said that he is a firm believer in the rule of law and that whichever the outcome, he will accept.

Ruto spoke on Friday evening during a candid conversation at the Center for Strategic International Studies, which was moderated by Mvemba Phezo Dizolele, who is the Director and Senior FellowAfrica program.

The DP is in the US with some of his Kenya Kwanza Alliance delegates.

“Because I’m a believer in the rule of law. I’m a believer in constitutionalism and if anybody brought whatever challenge into my way, I will deal with it within the parameters of the law and the rule of law,” Ruto said.

Ruto also confidently expressed his optimism that the country will be peaceful after the election.

“The people of Kenya, I believe, will do their thing. They will elect the leaders of their choice, and Kenya will walk into the future confidently.”

Also, the DP said that his long time in the public service is what has driven him to vie for the presidential seat, saying that he has what it takes to take the country to the next level.

In his visit, the DP has met Kenyans and various US government officials.

on Wednesday held a meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for Africa, Molly Phee.
