BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,25TH FEB,2022-The Covid-19 positivity rate now stands at 0.8% after 47 people tested positive on Friday for the disease, from a sample size of 5,928 tested in the last 24 hours.
Of the cases, 38 are Kenyans while 9 are foreigners. 28 males while 19 are females. The youngest is a 4- year-old child while the oldest is 79 years.
Total confirmed positive cases are now 322,869 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,357,710.
In terms of County distribution; Nairobi 32, Nakuru 5, Mombasa 2, Uasin Gishu 2, Embu 1, Kajiado 1, Kakamega 1, Kilifi 1, Migori 1 and Nyamira 1.
The distribution of positive cases by age is as follows; 0-9 years (1), 10-19 years (2), 20-29 years (13), 30-39 (9), 40-49 (7), 50-59 (7), 60 years and above (8).
32 patients have recovered from the disease, 26 from various health facilities countrywide while 6 are from the Home 6 Based and Isolation Care.
This pushes the total recoveries to 303,198 of whom 250,258 are from the Home-Based Care and Isolation program, while 52,940 are from various health facilities countrywide.
Today, there is no death reported, the cumulative fatalities remain at 5,638.
A total of 69 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 537 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
4 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and all of them are on ventilatory support. Another 13 patients are on supplemental oxygen and all of them are in the general wards.
No patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
As of February 24th 2022, a total of 16,456,660 vaccines have been administered across the country.
Of these, 7,755,463 are partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated are 7,502,696.
2 Another 950,164 are doses administered to those between 15 to 17 years while 248,337 are booster doses.
The total number of vaccines administered in the last 24 hours is 53,404 while the total number of people fully vaccinated in the last 24 hours is 30,137.
The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose was 63.6%. The proportion of adults fully vaccinated was 27.5%.
The Government is working towards vaccinating a targeted population of 27,246,033.
