IEBC Numbers: Electoral body registers 548,188 New Voters In Last 14 Days Of exercise

BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,31ST JAN,2022-The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has registered 548,188 new voters in the first two weeks of the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration exercise against a target of 2,987,138.

According to IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati, an additional 1,054 voters have been recorded in the diaspora.

The registration exercise entered its third and final week on Monday and is set to go on until ​​February 6 in the country while the diaspora registration goes on​​for 15 days after the respective date of commencement.

IEBC is targeting to register 2,987,138 during the second phase of this exercise.

Nairobi has recorded the highest turnover so far with 356,590 voters registered in the second phase, followed by Kiambu at ​​201,340 and Nakuru ​​152,278 voters
