BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,17TH JAN,2022-More rainfall is expected over most places of Kenya, the Kenya Meteorological Department has said.
In a weather forecast on Monday, Met said there are areas that will receive moderate to heavy rainfall.
These areas include; Samburu, Turkana, Baringo, Laikipia, Kitale, Eldoret, Nyandarua, Nyahururu, Nairobi, Nyeri, Kiambu and Meru.
Other areas include; Embu, Kajiado, Kitui, Makueni,Kericho, Nakuru, Migori, Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, West Pokot, Marsabit & Isiolo.
“Most parts of Nairobi County likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall,” Met said.
“Plan well and avoid traffic especially late afternoon to evening hours.”
On Friday, Met said moderate rains are expected in parts of the country.
Met director Stella Aura said the moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to occur in some areas from January 15 to 19.
The areas include; Lake Victoria Basin, Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Central and South Rift Valley, the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, Nairobi, parts of North-Western, North-Eastern, South Coast and South-Eastern lowlands.
“Some parts of North-Eastern, North-Western and the Coastal region are likely to remain sunny and dry,” she said.
