BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,31ST DEC,2021-Nominated MP, Maina Kamanda has told off Deputy President William Ruto, asking him to stop calling ODM leader Raila Odinga a state project.
Speaking at the Bukhungu Stadium on Friday, Kamanda said that Raila has lost election three times, and it is his time to lead the country, to help it achieve what he has always wanted to do for the people.
“Ruto you have to lose elections for about two or three times before taking over as a president,” Kamanda said.
The MP said Raila currently has the key to state house and he will clinch the top seat in August 2022.
Former Gatanga MP, Peter Kenneth who also spoke at the event said Raila is the only leader who can run this country peacefully.
He went on to say that Kenyans need a leader who is not threatening and chest thumping because this country will be ruined if left in bad hands, calling on people to vote for Raila Odinga.
“Elect Raila Odinga but don’t make the mistake of choosing Ruto,” he said.
Teso North MP, Ouko Kaunya urged ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi to join Azimio la Umoja which he termed as the only vehicle that has the capacity to deliver on the ballot.
“I have come here a head of my party leader to ensure everything is in order to when he arrives,” Kaunya said.
He said Raila is the only one with the capacity to face off with Ruto on the ballot and he is at Bukhungu Stadium to ensure the interest of Teso people are represented.
Kaunya was elected on an ANC party ticket in 2017. The law maker has hinted at joining Azimio la Umoja.
