BY DPPS/KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,15TH NOV,2021-Deputy President William Ruto has drummed up support for the bottom up economic model saying the approach will see more jobs created for the youth across the country.
Ruto who spoke during his two days campaign tour in Meru County, said most youth in the country are now engaging in criminal activities due to unemployment as the hard economic times persist.
He added that most Kenyans have been black listed by Credit Reference Bureau therefore unable to access funding to engage in meaningful business activities.
“We must save our children from unemployment crisis by revamping the country’s economy. We cannot move forward as a country if more than 14 million Kenyans blacklisted in the CRB cannot engage in any meaningful economic activity due to their inaccessibility to funding,” Ruto said
“That is why the Hustler Nation’s administration will ensure that it radically reconfigures our country’s financial system to make it more friendly to small traders to flourish,” he added
Additionally, the DP pledged to ensure full realization of Big 4 dream if elected President accusing ODM Leader Raila Odinga of disrupting Jubilee’s development agenda.
“My government will set aside Ksh100 Billion on housing, agriculture, manufacturing and value addition which will lead to creation of more jobs for the youth,” he stated
Ruto further called upon Meru residents not to be coerced to support a particular candidates ahead of 2022 general elections.
He accused Governors in the Mt. Kenya region of forcing people to support Odinga’s Presidential bid.
The DP was accompanied by Meru Senator Mithika Linturi, Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata, MPs Rigathi Gachagua, Moses Kirima, Kathuri Murungi among others.
Ruto is expected to tour parts of Igembe and Tigania in his second day of his visit in Meru on Tuesday.
