The number of COVID19 deaths reach records high at 25 as Kenya records 1,085 new cases

BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,3RD AUG,2021-The Ministry of Health has announced 1,085 new cases of coronavirus from a sample size of 7,067 collected in the last 24 hours.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said on Tuesday that the positivity rate was at 15.4 per cent.

This brings the total confirmed positive cases in the country to 205,356, and the cumulative tests conducted are 2,149,376.

From the cases, 1,04 9 are Kenyans while 36 are foreigners. 550 are females while 535 are males.

The youngest is a three-month-old infant and the oldest is 100 years.

Meanwhile, 403 patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total recoveries to 190,095.

Kagwe said that 25 people have succumbed to the virus, pushing the cumulative fatalities to 3,995.

A total of 1,540 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities across the country, while 4, 112 are under Home-Based Isolation and Care.
