BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,27TH MAY,2021-Deputy President William Ruto’s daughter June Ruto on Thursday, May 27 tied the knot with her Nigerian fiance Dr. Alexander Ezenagu in an elegant ceremony.
The wedding ceremony took place at Ruto’s private residence along Koitobos Road in Karen, Nairobi. After the DP moved into his official residence in the same neighbourhood, the family home was turned into a VIP Guest House for clients from Weston hotel.
According to videos seen by upesinews.co.ke the wedding had a white theme with a dash of pink. Guests who had arrived at the venue were snugged in their seats as they waited for the bride and groom.
The scenery also envisaged an ecstatic feeling as June walked down the aisle accompanied by her parents, DP Ruto and Rachel Ruto.
In a harmonious musical rendition, the band played This is why I love you by Major Johnson Finley as June proceeded to the podium.
The guests cheered in much approval as the DP handed his daughter over to Ezenagu.
The invite-only event included politicians allied to Ruto and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) faction.
Among the leaders who attended include Elgeyo Marakwet Kipchumba Murkomen, Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Soy MP Caleb Kositany, and Nandi governor Stephen Sang.
The ceremony had been touted and heavily anticipated after a dowry ceremony was held in Ruto’s residence in early May.
In the ceremony, the DP hosted his Nigerian in-laws which led to a vibrant and glamourous ceremony, that merged two cultures, the Kalenjins and Igbos from Nigeria.
Ruto, in past events, had been teasing his daughter to get married. In November 2020, he spoke during the traditional marriage ceremony between Nakuru senator Susan Kihika and businessman Sam Mburu in Laikipia county.
During the event, Ruto urged his daughter to settle down and start a family.
