BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,14TH MAY,2021-Kenya on Friday recorded 392 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country’s case load to 165,112, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said.
The CS in a statement confirmed that this was from a sample size of 3,668 recording a positivity rate of 10.7 per cent.
The cumulative tests stand at 1,737,168.
The country’s fatalities have risen to 2,976 after another eight patients succumbed to the disease.
Kagwe said that there are 1,040 patients currently admitted in various hospitals across the country. Another, 4,813 patients are on the home-based care programme.
A total of 118 patients are in ICU, out of which 23 are on ventilatory support.
Also, 88 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen, out of which 83 are in general wards and five in the HDU.
Meanwhile, 184 patients have recovered from the disease out of which 152 were from the Homebased care program while 32 were discharged from various health facilities.
Kenya’s recoveries now stand at 113,432.
