Kenya records 904 new COVID19 cases as 20 more patients succumb

BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,22ND APRIL,2021-Kenya on Thursday recorded 904 new Covid-19 cases, from a sample size of 5,673 tested in the last 24 hours, with the positivity rate standing at 15.9%.

Of the cases, 885 are Kenyans while 19 are foreigners, with 519 being males and 385 being females.

Age wise, the youngest is a two-month-old infant while the oldest is 97 years old.

This now brings the total number of positive cases to 154,392, and the cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,624,663.

In terms of recovery, 88 patients have recovered from the disease, with 12 from the home based and isolation care while 76 are from various health facilities.

The total number of recoveries in the country stands at 105,367, with 76,979 from home based and isolation care while 28,388 are from various health facilities.

However, the country has lost 20 patients to the disease, bringing the total number of fatalities to 2,560.
