21 people die as kenya confirms 1,030 new Covid19 infections

BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,10TH APRIL,2021-The Ministry of Health has reported another 1,030 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

In a statement on Saturday, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said that the new cases were picked from a sample size of 8,136, positivity rate is at 12. 4 per cent.

From the new cases, 995 are Kenyans while 35 are foreigners and 532 are males while 498 are females.

A ten-month-old infant is the youngest in today’s cases while the oldest is 99.

This brings the total number of positive cases in the country to 145, 184 and the cumulative tests are 1,557,704.

The CS said that 21 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, out of which five were reported in the last one month and 16 being the late deaths that occurred on diverse dates.

The total fatalities in the country from Covid related disease are 2,330.

Also, 422 people have recovered from the virus, 105 being discharged from various health facilities while 317 are from Home Based and Isolation Care. Total recoveries now stand at 98,605.
