BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,21ST FEB,2021-Kenya recorded 208 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday from a sample size of 3,415 tested in the last 24 hours.
The total number of confirmed cases in Kenya now stands at 104,201 from a cumulative test of 1,265,773 conducted since March.
Of the new cases, 173 are Kenyans while 35 are foreigners with 147 being male while 61 females were confirmed to have contracted the virus.
The youngest is a one-year-old child, while the oldest is aged 82 years.
37 patients have recovered from the disease, 35 from various health facilities while 2 are from the Home Based and Isolation Care. The total number of recoveries now stands at 85,577.
Six patients have succumbed to the virus during the same period. The total number of fatalities due to Covid-19 now stands at 1,823.
A total of 328 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities across the country while another 1,160 are on Home Based Isolation and Care.
According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, 51 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 24 are on ventilatory support, and 23 on supplemental oxygen with two patients on observation.
A further 8 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 4 on observation.
