BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,20TH FEB,2021-The Ministry of Heath has announced 152 new COVID-19 infections, tested from a sample of 3,734 in the last 24 hours.
The total of confirmed cases in the country has now hit 103,993 while the total of cases tested so far has hit 1,262,358.
From the cases, 137 are Kenyans while 15 are foreigners; 104 are males while 48 are females.
Across the country the cases are distributed as follows: Nairobi 105, Nakuru 8, Mombasa 8, Kiambu 7, Uasin Gishu 7, Machakos 3, Taita Taveta 3, Kajiado 2, Nyeri 2, Kisumu 2, Makueni 1, Meru 1, Murang’a 1, Nandi 1 and Kakamega 1.
In terms of Sub County distribution; the 105 cases in Nairobi are from Lang’ata (36), Embakasi Central (14), Dagoretti North (13), Kamukunji (6), Westlands (5), Kasarani and Roysambu (4) cases each, Kibra, Mathare, Ruaraka and Starehe (3) cases each, Dagoretti South, Embakasi East, Embakasi South, Embakasi West and Makadara (2) cases each, Embakasi North (1).
In Nakuru the 8 cases are from Nakuru East (6) and Naivasha (2).
In Mombasa the 8 cases are from Nyali (6) and Mvita (2).
In Kiambu the 7 cases are from Ruiru (2). Juja, Kiambaa, Kiambu Town, Lari and Limuru (1) case each.
In Uasin Gishu the 7 cases are from Ainabkoi (5), Kesses and Turbo (1) case each.
In Machakos all the 3 cases are from Athi River. In Taita Taveta all the 3 cases are from Voi.
The 2 cases in Kajiado are all from Kajiado North, the 2 cases in Nyeri are from Mathira East and Tetu (1) case each, the 2 cases in Kisumu are from Kisumu Central and Kisumu West with (1) case each, and the 2 cases in Makueni are all from Mbooni.
The Ministry of Health has also announced 8 new recoveries and 4 deaths pushing the total of recoveries and deaths to 85,540 and 1,817 respectively.
