BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,15TH FEB,2021-Kenya on Monday recorded 147 new cases of Covid-19 from a sample size of 2,063. This brings the country’s case load to 103,014, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said.
The CS in a statement confirmed the country’s positivity rate is now 7.3 per cent having conducted cumulative tests of 1,243,431.
The country’s fatalities remain at 1,795 as no death was reported.
Kagwe said that there are 254 patients currently admitted in various hospitals across the country. Another, 1,227 patients are on the home-based care programme.
A total of 34 patients are in ICU, out of which 15 are on ventilatory support.
Also, eight patients are separately on supplementary oxygen in general wards.
Meanwhile, 242 patients have recovered from the disease out of which 151 were from the Homebased care program while 91 were discharged from various health facilities.
Kenya’s recoveries now stand at 85,250.
From the new cases reported on Monday, 119 are Kenyans while 28 are foreigners.
In terms of gender, 75 are male while are 72 female with age ranging from five month to 88 years.
In terms of distribution of cases per county, Nairobi has 107, Kiambu 9, Mombasa 4, Uasin Gishu 4, Laikipia 3, Kajiado 3, Meru 3, Machakos 2, Makueni 2, Nakuru 2, Nyamira, Nyeri, Trans Nzoia, Busia, Embu, Isiolo, Kitui and Kilifi had single cases each.
