Kenya records 104 new COVID19 Cases ,total caseload now at 102,048

BY KORIR JUMA ,NAIROBI,9TH FEB,2021-Kenya on Tuesday recorded 104 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country’s case load to 102,048.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe in a statement confirmed that this was from a sample size of 3,348 recording a positivity rate of 3.1 per cent.

The cumulative tests stand at 1,220,043.

The country’s fatalities have risen to 1,789 after another three  patients succumbed to the disease.

Kagwe said that there are 368 patients currently admitted in various hospitals across the country. Another, 1,315 patients are on the home-based care programme.

A total of 37 patients are in ICU, out of which 13 are on ventilatory support.

Also, 11 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen and in general wards.

Meanwhile, 69 patients have recovered from the disease out of which 32 were from the Homebased care program while 37 were discharged from various health facilities.

Kenya’s recoveries now stand at 84,542.

Seventy seven of the cases recorded are Kenyans of age between two-months and 101 years.

Nairobi takes the lead of cases recording 68, Laikipia 7, Kiambu 6, Uasin Gishu 6, Siaya 3, Nakuru 3, Kisumu 2, Nandi 2, Machakos 2, Kajiado, Kakamega, Kericho, Muranga and Taita Taveta had single cases each.
