BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,7TH FEB,2021-Health CS Mutahi Kagwe in a statement on Sunday said that three deaths related to Coronavirus were reported in the last 24 hours.
This brings the number of fatalities in the country to 1,779.
At the same time, the CS said that 129 more people tested positive for the virus, bringing the total number of positive cases to 101,819.
The new cases were picked from a sample of 4,797. The cumulative tests conducted in the country stands at 1,214,742.
From the cases, 96 are Kenyans while 33 are foreigners. Also, 69 are males while 60 are females and the youngest from the cases is a one-year-old baby while the oldest is 81.
The CS also announced that 59 patients have been discharged, where 25 are from the health facilities in the country, and 34 are from the Home-Based Isolation and Care.
The total recoveries now stand at 84,361.
Currently, 391 patients are admitted in various hospitals countrywide, while 1,378 are on Home Based Isolation and Care.
Thirty-seven patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 15 of whom are on ventilatory support and 18 on supplemental oxygen with 4 on observation.
Another 13 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen, all being in the general wads.
In terms of the distribution of the new cases, Nairobi recorded 87 cases, Uasin Gishu 12, and Kiambu 11.
