BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,1ST FEB,2021-There was an uproar on Monday morning after a consultative meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta, women leaders from Central Kenya and the clergy was  postponed to next week. Women who had arrived earlier after receiving invites expressed their anger over the postponement saying the information was supposed to have been communicated on time.

In a statement on Monday, State House spokesperson Kanze Dena said the postponement was occasioned by ‘unavoidable circumstances’

“Consultative meetings between His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Clergy and Women Leaders from Central Kenya scheduled for today, Monday 1st February 2021 at Sagana State Lodge have been postponed to next week due to unavoidable circumstances,” the statement read.

According to the statement, the venue for next week’s meeting will be communicated in due course.

The head of state pitched camp in his Central Kenya backyard on Friday, kicking off his 4-day visit to the region which saw him launch projects while drumming up support for the BBI.
