BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,30TH OCT 2020-Sports gaming company SportPesa has announced that it will resume its operations in Kenya close to two years since it suspended its activities in the country. The company suspended its operations owing to tax tussle between the operator and the government .The government had also blamed the sportpesa management of failing to fulfill new regulations that were developed under the ministry of interior and coordination of the national government governing the operations of gamming firms in the country.
However in a message on Twitter on Friday evening, Sportpesa Chief executive officer Ronald karauri broke the good news to its fans, saying they were glad to be back. Karauri also thanked their fans in the country for their support. He however did not announce the exact date when the said operations were scheduled to begin.
”SportPesa is back! I’m happy to announce that the SportPesa brand is back under a new BCLB license holder.
”SportPesa is delighted to resume operations in Kenya. Thank you for your support.” he added.
