10 deaths recorded as the number of COVID19 infections in the country rises to 36,301

BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,15TH SEPT,2020-Kenya on Tuesday recorded 96 new cases of Covid-19, raising the country’s total to 36,301, Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi has confirmed.

This was from a sample of 3,270 tested in the last 24 hours.

The number of fatalities rose to 634 after another 10 patients succumbed to the virus.

Speaking during the daily Covid-19 briefing from Afya House, Mwangangi said age-wise, the youngest was a five-year-old infant while the oldest was 81 years old.

Nairobi continues to lead in the daily positivity rate, recording 26 cases in the last 24 hours.

Other counties with new cases include; Kisii 10, Mombasa (seven), Kericho (five), Kajiado and Kiambu two cases each.

Another 121 patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country so far to 23,364.

A total of 97 of those discharged were from the home-based programme, while 24 were discharged from various health facilities.
