Kenya records 104 New COVID19 cases,Eight more deaths

BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,9TH SEPT,2020-Kenya on Wednesday recorded 104 new cases of Covid-19, raising the country’s total to 35,460 , Health CAS Rashid Aman confirmed.

This was from a sample 2,285 of tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative tests to 481,982.

All were Kenyans except three who were foreigners.

Speaking during the daily Covid-19 briefing from Afya House, Aman said age wise, the youngest was a one-year-old infant while the oldest was 75 years old.

The new cases were distributed in Nairobi with 18 cases, Mombasa 16, Kisumu 13, Embu 11, Laikipia 11, Murang’a six, Narok four, Kericho four, Kiambu three, Nakuru three,Meru three, Machakos three, Taita Taveta two, Uasin Gishu two, Bomet, Kajiado, Kwale, Vihiga and Lamu had one case each.

Another 74 patients have recovered from the disease, bringing  the total number of recoveries in the country so far to 21,557.

A total of 41 of those discharged were from the home-based programme, while 33 were discharged from various health facilities.

The number of fatalities rose to 607 after eight patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.
