Kenya records 176 new COVID19 cases,total rises to 6,366

BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,30TH JUNE,2020-Health CAS Rashid Aman has announced 176 new COVID-19 cases in Kenya bringing the total to 6,366.

The patients are from a sample size of 2,419 tested in the last 24 hours.

According to Dr. Aman, all the latest cases are Kenyans: 100 are male and 76 are female.

The youngest is a 3-year-old child while the oldest is 78.

Nairobi has 99 cases, Mombasa 20, Kiambu 17, Migori 13, Uasin Gishu 10, Kajiado 4, Busia 4, Kilifi 3, Makueni 2, Machakos 1, Narok 1, Kakamega 1 and Kisumu 1.

Nairobi’s 99 cases are from Dagoretti North (24); Starehe (16); Westlands (15); Embakasi East (13); Kibra (7); Makadara (5); Kasarani (4); Lang’ata (3); Embakasi Central (2); Dagoretti North, Embakasi South, Mathare and Roysambu 1 each.

In Mombasa the cases are from Mvita (7); Kisauni (5); Changamwe (5); Jomvu (2) and Likoni (1).

In Migori the cases are from Kuria West (11) and Suna East (2) while Uasin Gishu has cases from Ainabkoi (7) and Turbo (3).

Kajiado East has two cases while Kajiado North also has two. Busia cases are from Matayos (2) and Teso North (2).

Kilifi North has two cases while Magarini has one case. Makueni’s two cases are from Kibwezi West while Machakos has one case in Athi River.

The one case in Narok is from Narok West; Kisumu’s one case is from Kisumu Central while Kakamega’s case is from Malava.

Total cumulative samples tested since March now stands at 169,836.

In the last 24 hours, the COVID-19 death toll in the country has risen to 148 after four more patients succumbed to the virus.

However, in the same period, 26 patients were discharged bringing total recoveries to 2,039.
