Kenya records 123 new COVID19 cases,brings the total number to 2,216

BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,3RD JUNE,2020-Kenya has   recorded 123 Covid-19 cases, bringing the total to 2,216. This is out of 2,112 samples tested in 24 hours. A total of 85,058 tests have been done to date. The announcement was made by health chief administrative secretary Rashid Aman.

The cases are from Nairobi 44, Mombasa 34, Busia 20, Uasin Gishu 12, Kiambu 3 among others.

Forty-four cases from Nairobi are from Kibra. The country recorded the highest number of discharges on Wednesday at 50.

However, another three males have died, raising the death toll to 74. The youngest was a 12-year-old boy who was discovered to be positive posthumously.

Aman warned Kenyans against using face masks as ‘chin guards’ and wearing them below the nose. A number of Kenyans pull down the masks down to the chin.

Mobile labs on the Namanga border and Mai Mahiu have been operationalised to serve truck drivers, Aman said.
