BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,28TH APRIL,2020-The ministry of Health on Tuesday  confirmed Eleven more patients who have  tested positive for Covid-19 in Kenya following the testing of 589 samples, raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 374.

Addressing the press Ministry of Heath, Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Rashid Aman ,  said seven of the new cases are from Nairobi and four from Mombasa.

Among the 11 new cases are two children aged three years with the oldest of all the new patients being 70 years old.

In Nairobi, four of the cases were recorded in Kawangware, and one each in Eastleigh, Manji and Kaloleni estates while all the four cases in Mombasa were from Kibokoni (Old Town).

“We therefore want to request residents of these areas to take extra measures to avoid contracting the virus,” said Dr. Aman.

He said the government would enhance contact tracing, surveillance and infection control management in Mombasa following the rising infection trends in the two counties.

“It is important to note the trend of positive cases have been restricted to Nairobi and Mombasa. This indicative of increased local transmission in these two counties. The rest of the counties are advised to continue observing the containment measures,” added Dr. Aman.
