Waiguru to Ruto:You aught to have been faithful to the partnership between yourself and Uhuru

BY CORRESPONDENT,27TH FEB,2020-Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has on Thursday took  a swipe at DP William Ruto saying if she was Uhuru Kenyatta she would not have endured endless bashing, abuse and disrespect.

The governor who spoke  in Kirinyaga,  compared the Uhuru-Ruto partnership to a legally binding marriage.

She said that just like any other marriage, couples facing irreconcilable differences were at liberty to pull the plug if a union was was not serving their interests.

“Sometimes, even if you love your wife, it becomes too much, you need to have mutual respect, respect the hierarchy, Uhuru has endured so much, if it was me, I would not stand that abuse,” she said.

She added: “Even if you lose your partner, you do not stay alone, you look for another one and keep life moving,”

She appeared to be referring to the Uhuru-Raila handshake that had birthed the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and appeared to be keeping DP Ruto on the periphery.

Waiguru also spoke of President Kenyatta’s agreement with Ruto that both of them would serve as president for an equal two terms.

Shortly before Uhuru and Ruto took over from the Kibaki government, Uhuru had promised to support a Ruto presidency upon the expiry of his tenure in office.

Waiguru now says the agreement was only binding provided Ruto kept his end of the bargain by supporting, working with and respecting his boss.

“We are not saying that we did not agree on the 10-10 presidential term for the two, but at some point it gets out of hand and you have to finish what you promised Kenyans even without your better half,” She added.
