ODM Party Reacts After Babu Owino’s Shooting Incident

BY  NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,17TH JAN,2020-Orange Democratic Movement Party through ,Secretary General Edwin Sifuna on Friday, January 17 addressed the shooting incident involving Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and DJ Evolve.

According to Sifuna,  that the party was ready to ensure that the due process was followed.

Responding to a tweet by former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando, Sifuna stated that ODM Party was subordinate to the law of the land and was ready to ensure justice.

“Matters of alleged criminal conduct are beyond the realm of a political party. The law enforcement agencies are in charge. ODM Party is subordinate to the law of the land.

“Our concern at the moment is with the victim of this extremely unfortunate incident,” wrote Sifuna.

Kandara MP Alice Wahome too weighed on the matter, stating that Babu had a lesson to learn the following his recent conduct.

“Babu Owino insulted me a while ago but I let it go. He further wrote on his wall yesterday that Raila shall be president by ballot or bullet.

“His goose is cooked. DCI and Fred Matiang’i, over to you. All eyes on you. Quick Recovery Felix Orinda (DJ Evolve),” wrote Wahome on her Facebook page.

On Saturday, January 11, Babu threatened to shave the Kandara MP if she continued attacking President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Through her Twitter, Ms Wahome cleverly responded to Babu, indicating that he had become notorious in insulting leaders.

“Babu Owino, it was not enough to insult Uhuru Kenyatta, Mama Ngina, Alice Wahome and now Esther Passaris.

“You are unworthy of my response. Esther Passari is an honourable member. What are you?” wrote Wahome.

On January 11, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris also expressed her disappointment at the first-time legislator’s remarks, explaining that his threats amounted to defilement.

Passaris also stated that Babu’s comment was considered an attack on women.

“Babu respect women. You can only shave your wife not a fellow legislator, or any other woman without their explicit consent,” Passaris advised.

“Any action to the contrary will be an act of defilement,” she added.
