Car that plunged into Indian ocean retrieved

BY CORRESPONDENT,MOMBASA,7TH DEC 2019-The recovery mission of a car that submerged into the Indian Ocean on the early morning of Saturday, December 7, has been completed.

The maroon Toyota Allion vehicle registration number KAX 474B was pulled out of the wavy waters few minutes past midday by a multi agency team according to government spokesperson.

Remains of the driver identified as John Mutinda which had been retrieved earlier on from the wreckage were transferred to Jocham Hospital Mortuary. The vehicle was located about six metres deep.

Kenya Coast Guard Service, The Kenya Navy and professional divers from the Kenya Ferry Services were all involved in the exercise that took about six hours.

The  ferry management says  the deceased motorist purchased ticket and immediately he drove off to the ramps with high speed to the ocean even after being asked to stop.
