Kibra Decides:Voters casts their vote to elect new MP amid tight security

BY UPESI REPORTERS,KIBRA,NAIROBI,7TH NOV 2019-Residents of Kibra constituency begun trickling into polling stations as as early as 5am on Thursday to elect their new member of parliament after the demise of Ken Oktho

.A spot check by UPESINEWS team indicates that voting is going on well as expected as security remains tight in all poling stations across the constituency.

However one person has been given a proper beating by members of the public when he was seen trying to bribe voters at in Lindi ward.

Even though the by election has attracted 24 candidates  the battle is between Raila Odinga’s ODM  and Jublee part which has fronted McDonald Mariga as their candidate. ODM is fighting to retain the seat through its candidate Imran Okoth, the brother to late area MP Ken Okoth.

The deputy president William Ruto who  has been campaigning for the ruling Jubilee Party’s McDonald Mariga is also  keen to win the constituency largely considered  an opposition stronghold.

There are  118,658 registered voters.
