BY CORRESPONDENTS,29TH OCT 2019-The Kenya certificate of primary Educations KCPE exams kicked off smoothly on Tuesday  across the country as government  deployed choppers to deliver papers for the KCPE exams to areas worst hit by heavy rains.

Education PS Richard Belio Kipsang on Tuesday said the police air wing and other government agencies have offered choppers to transport the exams.

Speaking in Kisumu when he opened the examination container at the central sub-county headquarters’, he said Migori County is the most affected by rains in the area.

“The government will also provide off-road vehicles to areas with poor road network to ease movement of those manning the exercise,” he added.

On his part Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matinag’i who was in Gilgil noted that security officers have been called from leave to ensure a smooth exercise.

The CS   warned that anyone who tries to disrupt the exam will face the law.

Dr. Matinag’i further noted that other Cabinet Secretaries are in different parts of the country to ensure that the exams kick off smoothly.

He noted that Education CS George Magoha is in Mombasa while his ICT counterpart Joe Mucheru is in Nyeri.

The CS further affirmed that the integrity of the examinations is intact and adequate measures are in place to deter cheating.

Elsewhere in  Nyeri, ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru said that the weather conditions in the county have not disrupted exams and the exercise has kicked off smoothly.

The county of Nyeri  has 17,300 students sitting the national examination across 505 examination centers.
