BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,5TH OCT 2019-Three police officers and a Cameroonian citizen were on Saturday morning arrested in connection to a robbery with violence incident reported in Nairobi’s Eastleigh .
The three officers, all attached to Kayole Police Station, alongside the foreigner are said to have accosted some two Eastleigh residents at a lodging, where they stole Sh6 million at gun point, a police report indicated.
Police nabbed them shortly after the incident when one of the victims raised alarm attracting response from police officers patrolling the area.
The three pistols had 38 bullets.
The arrested police officers were in a gang of six.
A police constable assigned to the Kayole Police Station and one other accomplice whose identity is yet to be established managed to escape.
The four suspects arrested on Friday are being detained at the Pangani Police Station ahead of arraignment on Monday.
Reports of police officers being involved in criminal activities are in the rise in the country with several cases of robbery with violence where officers are involved reported at least in the last one month.
Five police officers are battling fraud cases following the September Sh72 million ATM heist in Nairobi West.
Apart from this case other similar ones have been reported in other parts of the country.
