BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,16TH JULY 2019– Hundreds of residents have been evicted from apartments in Pangani Estate as a part of the ongoing plans by Nairobi City County to recover a parcel of land earmarked for the construction of modern apartments.Hwever evicted residents say they were not notified on time.
According to officials from City Hall , Governor Mike Sonko’s administration wants to construct decent houses in the area as part of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big 4 Agenda.
Many spent their night in the cold on Monday as county officials raided the estate and brought down the apartments.
However reports say that some residents had been served notice to vacate and even compensated and given until July 31 to vacate.
