BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,4TH JULY 2019-Former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth  has narrated how the deceased Safaricom CEO jokingly contributed Ksh 1,000 for him to buy a car.

Kenneth gave the narration at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi during Collymore’s memorial service .

The former presidential  revealed  how Collymore always took them, the boys club, to his tailor whenever they visited him in London.

Kenneth says  the Ghanaian tailor, Boateng, was outrageously expensive.

Despite that fact, Bob ordered his tailor to sell his friends a few suits, to which they silently turned down beacuse he could not afford due to high  price.

“I vividly remember one occasion, when he was fitting a new suit, he asked the tailor to sell the rest of us suits but the price was beyond our budgets. We politely told the tailor that we would return at a later date,” stated Kenneth.

While on their way to dinner, they stopped by a car showroom to check out a few vehicles and the former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant was struck by one particular car.

Collymore who at this time was growing impatient  thundered  that the car was worth numerous suits and then sent Peter Kenneth Ksh1000 as start-up money for the car.

“On our way to dinner that evening, we stopped at a car showroom and I showed him what I thought was a nice car. That is when he vented out his frustration at our not buying suits from his favourite tailor, quipping that the car was worth an awful lot of suits. The next morning in Isuma, he Mpesad me Ksh 1,000 shillings as a start-up fund for buying the car,” he noted.

On his part former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair, also disclosed personally knowing Bob Collymore’s tailor.

Blair affirmed, “I know that tailor, the man (Peter Kenneth) spoke about, I actually did have a conversation with Bob about that tailor, I used that tailor, he is a great tailor.”
