Three suspects arrested as they tried to disrupt Ugenya By elections

BY KORIR JUMA/CORRESPONDENT,5TH APRIL 2019-Three people  suspects  are due in court after they were arrested for having allegedly causing  violence in Ugenya  constituency by elections early Friday morning.

Ugenya OCPD  Willy Simba  has confirmed the incident saying t the three will be arraigned in court once they have been processed.

It is alleged that they were caught with crude weapons and are chief suspects in an incident where a voter was severely slashed almost to death around Udira Kamrembo polling station.”

The ODM candidate in by-election Chris Karani attributed the violence to actions by his opponents that sought to intimidate him.

“We had an incident where person was hurt and fortunately enough, we were able to catch up with the vehicle which were carrying the thugs. He was arrested and was taken to the police station. As I am speaking, the suspect is at the Ukwala police station,” he stated.

Karani has expressed confidence of a win in the exercise stating that he has what it takes to serve the people of Ugenya.
He however urged voters to undertake the exercise peacefully as they strive to elect a leader of their choice.

There are four candidates  taking part in the mini poll  amoing them is  Christopher Odhiambo Karani (ODM), David Ochieng’ (MDG), Brian Omondi (Thirdway Alliance) and Daniel Juma (GDDP
