BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,29TH AUG 2018– Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu has filed an application seeking to stop her criminal prosecution over alleged corruption.
In an application filed at the High Court on Wednesday, Judge Mwilu states that her alleged impropriety while handling Imperial Bank cases is purely a commercial.
She also argued that the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji has no powers to arrest her and that the State was prosecuting the case through the media.
Mwilu faces tax evasion, forgery and office abuse charges.
The DCJ added that she became aware of the arrest and allegations through newspapers.
