BY REPORTER,NAIROBI,6TH AUG 2018-The national environmental management Authority NEMA Monday morning demolished the java house In Kileleshwa Nairobi said to be standing on a wetland.
Other businesses among them Shell petrol station and a Safe Dose pharmacy were also closed in the demolitions as the Authority targets such establishments said to have been constructed in illegally occupied wetlands in the city county.
Most of the workers at the three business premises were found unawares causing untold confusion and fear.
The businesses were operating in a building erected less than 30 metres from the banks of Nairobi River.
WWW.UPESINEWS.CO.KE witnessed the affected business owners as well as their workers grappling to salvage property .Thoiught it was too late many properties were destroyed.They include furniture, microwaves, ovens among others.
