The along waited lunar eclipse will hit Kenya starting at 10:30 pm on Friday .The dark period will continue to about a quarter past midnight.
However in other parts of the world it will start at 8.14 pm on Friday, July 27 .
The eclipse will go through seven stages .
The Northern part of Kenya will witness the eclipse more clearly than the rest of Kenya .
Stages to be expected
The lunar eclipse will go through seven stages up to the time it ends with the first stage of the penumbral eclipse starting at around 8.14pm when part of the earth’s shadow will start moving over the moon.
The second stage is when the partial eclipse begins when the penumbral part of the earth’s shadow will move over the moon at 9.24 pm.
The third stage, the total eclipse will begin where the earth’s umbra will cover the moon completely and the moon will turn, red, brown or yellow at 10.30 pm.
The maximum eclipse will be experienced at 11.21 pm. The full eclipse will start to end at 00.13 am the time the earth’s umbra will start moving away from the moon.
