BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,25TH JULY 2018-Just a day after Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula claimed that ODM leader Raila Odinga mastermined his ouster from the leader of minority in senate,Leaders from the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition have told him off.
The leaders, led by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party chairman John Mbadi, Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and his Ugunja counterpart Opiyo Wandayi said Wetangula had failed.
“Wetangula had no track record of change. We gave him the responsibility of leading 28 senators and he failed. Anger will not take him far,” said Mbadi during a press conference.
“He is taking too long to heal; he needs to accept that he is no longer a Minority Leader in the Senate. Throwing tantrums like a primary kid will not help him.”
The Suba South MP further accused Wetangula of disparaging their party leader Raila Odinga, labeling him a coward for skipping the controversial Uhuru Park ‘swearing-in.’
“Wetangula is not a friend one needs, he is the least man to talk about betrayal. He lacks political clout to be consulted on national issues,” added Mbadi.
on his part senator Malala, accused Wetangula of r thinking that his supposed exit from the opposition coalition would lead to the exit of fellow leaders from the Western region.
“This thing of principals must stop, how can Wetangula think that he is an equal to Raila Odinga?” posed Malala.
“If I don’t get letters from members of Ford-Kenya, especially the leadership, disassociating themselves with Wetangula’s sentiments then action will be taken.”
Wetangula when appearing on Citizen TV’s Newsnight on said his links with Odinga have been completed cut and he had nothing remaining to do with the opposition leader.
