Victory for Alfred Keter as high court in Eldoret upholds his election victory

BY CORRESPONDENT,ELDORET,11 JULY 2018-Nandi Hills member of parliament  Alfred Keter is  a happy man after the Court of Appeal in Eldoret overturned  the decision of the High Court to nullify his election.

Judges Erastus Githinji, Fatuma Sichale and Hannah Okwengu Wednesday ruled that Mr Keter was validly elected.

The court further ruled that the petitioner, Benard Kitur, did not prove claims that Mr Keter engaged in election malpractice by campaigning beyond the stipulated time.

Addressing the press after the ruling that took several hours,Keter has thanked his supporters and lawyers whom he says stood firm with him during the process of hearing the petition.

He has promised to continue working even harder for his electorate  towards  his current term in office.
