BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,26TH JUNE 2018-Justice William Ouko has been sworn in as the new president for the Court of Appeal at the Supreme Court.The swearing in ceremony was presided over by chief justice David Maraga.
Justice Ouko is set to resume office immediately after his swearing in. He is replacing Justice Kihara Kariuki who got nominated as the Attorney General by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Before the elections which saw Justice Ouko winning, Justice Philip Waki was the acting President of the Court of Appeal.
Speaking during the event chief justice David Maraga said the judiciary was committed to improving service delivery to Kenyans and ensuring that wanachi get justice within a short time.
He also said going forward the accumulation of cases in courts will be a thing of the past. On construction of courts stations across the country,Maraga said that already almost all counties have a court room with only few counties remaining.
