Ruling on bail application by NYS Scandal suspects pushed to June 19

BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,12TH JUNE 2018-The  ruling  on whether NYS scandal suspects will be released on bail  will be issued  next week Tuesday.

The directive was  issued on Tuesday  by High Court judge Edwing Ongudi who heard applications by lawyers representing suspects charged with corruption-related offences.They  include  Public Service and Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Lilian Omollo who is accused of authorizing irregular payments to 10 companies and well as NYS director general Richard Ndubai.

Two days ago  the court ordered 20 commercial banks to freeze over100 accounts  associated with the suspects being investigated for money laundering in connection with the ongoing NYS scandal.

The suspects are being investigated in connection with the loss of Ksh 468 million belonging to NYS which part of 9billion shillings reported to have been embezzled .
