Primary school pupil held in Muranga over murder of grandmother

BY CORRESPONDENT,MURANGA,1ST JUNE 2018-A Standard 6 pupil  in Gatanga Muranga county  is being held by police for allegedly killing his grand mother after he poisoned her.

Sources told  that the boy who  is in his late teen is said to have mixed the fall army worm pesticide with his  60 years old grandmother’s tea.

The granny is reported to have developed abdominal pains after consuming the beverage.

The deceased who was a popular figure in the area, was rushed to Kirwara Sub-district Hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.

Gatanga police boss David Rotich said  police have collected samples of the tea and taken to the lab for tests.

The samples will be taken  to the  government chemists to   ascertain  whether it was poison.
