BY CORRESPONDENT,MOMBASA,29TH MAY 2018-A plane has made an emergency landing in Mombasa Tuesday morning after it was struck by birds.The plane belonging to German leisure airline Condor landed at Moi International Airport.
Coast regional police boss Noah Mwivanda has confirmed the incident saying before the emergency landing the plane was taking tourists to Zanzibar for holiday.
Police said the incident happened shortly after take-off from the Kenyan airport at 9.30am.
The plane landed safely at the airport and there were no injuries, Mr Mwivanda said.
“I am informed that there was a bird strike but all the passengers are safe. They are awaiting further instructions,” said Mr Mwivanda.

WWW.UPESINEWS.CO.KE has established that passengers who all were safe after the incident have gone back to their hotels in Nyali.
It is not clear whether the affected tourists will continue with their journey to their destination but we have learnt that they may plan to take another plane again tomorrow.

According to Moi International Airport management the plane was on transit from Frankfurt, Germany.
“It was picking some passengers here in Mombasa before taking off to Zanzibar,” said the facility’s manager Walter Agong said
