Former Roads CS Micheal Kamau summoned to appear in court next Monday over corruption

BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,23RD MAY 2018-Just a day after EACC detectives raided the home of  Former Roads Cabinet Secretary Michael Kamau in Nairobi, Kamau  has been summoned to appear before the anti-corruption court in Nairobi on Monday next week.This is after he  failed to appear in court  on Wednesday alongside two former engineers  over  of abuse of office charges.

The two Mr Mwangi Maingi and Mr Nicholas Ndungu  however appeared in court and denied charges relating to a road contract in Bungoma County.

The two denied and was released on a Sh500,000 cash bail each.

They are both accused of aiding the loss of Sh33 million through a change on the design of Kamukuywa-Kaptama-Sirisia road.

On Tuesday EACC  detectives f raided Mr Kamau’s Karen home in the capital Nairobi.

They wanted to arrest the former CS but did not find him.

The trial will start on July 3, while Mr Kamau will appear in court on May 28.
