BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,30TH APRIL 2018-There was drama on Monday afternoon after a gang of suspected to be hired goons, stormed and disrupted a press conference called by former Nairobi Central Business District Business Association (NCBDA) Chairman Timothy Muriuki.
Mr Muriuki had called the media to give his stand on the state of Nairobi under the leadership of governor Sonko, which has been facing numerous including garbage, traffic jams and floods, at the Hotel Boulevard.
However just as Mr Muruiki e emerged and started his address, two men intercepted him, roughing him up in the full glare of the cameras as journalists recorded the events.
According to the attackers, Mr Muriuki was out to tarnish Governor Mike Sonko’s name, first tore his statement into pieces.
They dragged him away by the collar of his coat and forced him out of the hotel’s gate where he was attacked by a mob that was waiting there.
