BY CORRESPONDENT,NAIVASHA,10TH APRIL 2018-More than 17 people have died after a bus they were travelling in lost control and plunged into River Siyiabei along Narok- Maai Mahiu road.
According to Narok County Commissioner George Natembeya who confirmed the accident said the 63-seater bus was heading to Nairobi from Kendu Bay in Homa Bay County.
Eye witnesses who spoke to WWW.UPESINEWS.CO.KE say the bus was trying to avoid a construction lorry which was joining the road when the driver lost control and plunged into the river.”niliona basi hii ikikwepa kugonga lori la mchanga kabla ya kuanguka kwa bonde said a witness James Mbuthia.(I saw a bus trying to avoid hiting a a lorry carrying construction sand before plunging into a ditch)”
The injured were rushed to the Narok Referral Hospital.
Rescue operations have been undertaken by Kenya redcross officials and the police.
