One person dies in Pangani accident while one more sustains serious injuries in Yatta

BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,31ST MARCH 2018-An accident on Saturday morning has resulted to death of a lorry driver following a head-on collision at the Pangani Interchange in Nairobi.
The driver of the lorry died on the spot. The bus driver survived with injuries on his legs as it was lodged in the dashboard following the impact.
Good samaritans and paramedics as well as firefighters had a difficult time dislodging his foot from the dashboard before the two vehicles were removed from the scene.

The accident occurred when the bus, belonging to Mash Auto, had just dropped off passengers from Mombasa at the Shell Petrol Station a few metres away, and was going to the parking yard.
Combined efforts
Police officers at the scenee, county ambulance workers, firefighters and the Red Cross had to join hands in clearing the scene and control traffic amid surging crowds of onlookers.
Elsewhere One person has sustained serious injuries and six others got minor wounds following a road accident at Makutano ma Ndalani in Yatta, Machakos County.
According to Yatta police boss Edward Kipsang Changach who confirmed the incident , the seven were rushed to Matuu Level Four hospital for treatment.
“The accident involved a minibus which was heading to Thika direction from Matuu before ramming into a lorry from rear side,” he said .
